A tower is symbolic of intellectual isolation and metaphysical innocence. 11 year old Ginny Weasley is not aware of either meaning as she finds herself at the heart of a struggle for the Wizarding world’s soul.

There was no way that Petunia Dursley was raising that child. Every contract had to have a loophole in it somewhere, if she could only find it. But once she found it, how would she get rid of the child? She would learn that magic is based on intent, and subverting the intent of any contract is risky business. A story co-written by Moshpit and Sovran.

What if Lily had survived and escaped with Harry in the attack on Halloween of 1981? How will Lily, who many believed to be the smartest witch of her generation, raise her son and how will he fulfill his destiny? The story will mostly deal with Harry in his 6th and 7th year. (My 11th story.)

Harry mysteriously disappeared at the age of six, and then benefited from years of tutoring by an old family friend. With the return of Voldemort, it is finally time for a fifteen-year-old, well-trained, sarcastic and somewhat cynical Harry to take up his place at Hogwarts. Life at Hogwarts, however, is not always what Harry anticipated. There, secrets are told, allies are discovered, and the journey to power begins. Completely AU.

Following Dumbledore's funeral, the Hogwarts Express trip home to London is somber and quiet. What the Hogwarts students don't realize is the senseless violence of war does not stop for tragedy, no matter how personal or poignant. They are about to learn that lesson.

This was for the 2006 summer challenge at SIYE, but a big plot snag and the need for major editing ensured it was not ready by the submission deadline.
