I really like the idea of SIYE's six-word story challenge. The source (Hemingway's supposed contest-winning novel) may or may not be accurate, but the challenge itself is meaningful and thought-provoking. However, because of the way SIYE chose to compile and format the challenge entries, they got a bit mangled. Any dialog or other multi-line entries look pretty awful, and to me they lose some of their readability and impact. So, for my own satisfaction, here are my six-word stories, formatted as I intended them.

A general comment
I found many of the entries not to be stories but merely comments. So in that respect my favourite of yours is
'Here lies Remus Lupin. A man.'
I see what you mean about
I see what you mean about the formatting.
Of yours this one is my favourite:
'Centuries later, wizards called buffoons “dursleys.”'

Curious
Just out of curiosity, does anyone understand the meaning of the "five flowers" story? That one is actually a massive summarization of a plot bunny I had for PhoenixSong's Anniversary Challenge. I didn't have time to write the story as I conceived it, but I took a stab at conveying it in six words. I think that maybe the basic meaning of it was lost, though.
I think you might be right.
I think you might be right. I cannot even begin to figure out what or who Arthur's five flowers are. It's lost me.
Five flowers
As I said, it's a plot bunny I had for the PS Anniversary Challenge. At Bill and Fleur's wedding, Arthur was said to be wearing a flower in his lapel (I forget the details). Five of the Weasley children (excluding Fred and Charlie) ended up getting married. Thus Arthur might end up with a collection of five different boutonnieres from his five children's weddings. To him, those flowers could come to represent the future of his children, the family, and the wizarding world.
The original bunny idea was to write about Arthur's thoughts as he added the last flower (probably George & Angelina) to a box where he kept the others. In doing so, he could reminisce about each of his children-in-law in turn, which would provide a glimpse into his view of his own children and all of their places in the world.
Too much for six words, I guess.
That would be a cool idea.
That would be a cool idea. I'm glad you didn't write it though. I like my trophy! :P
Beautiful
Sovran... Thats deep, beautiful, and sentimental. I do that. I have a box with the flowers I wore or carried in 6 weddings for brothers & sisters. Including my own. That first flower is almost 34 years old and still holds its shape and colors, just a little shrivled and delicate now. The memories these flowers hold in their petals... I will treasure that box forever.
