Just a suggestion but it would be nice to have some fields in our profiles to put our instant messenger contact info in case any of us want to have private chat with each other.
I don't think so. I never liked the practice of keeping those public. Users on this site have at least two ways to exchange such info in private if they're inclined to do so.
Either the Private Messages system, or private chat in the chatroom. That should be enough.
